Detail information
For decades, the Vučinić family has been producing wine in a traditional manner. In recent years, while preserving this heritage, we have embraced modern technological methods to enhance quality and create wines that meet the demands of the contemporary market.
The Vučinić family vineyards in Podgorica stretch along the edges of Duklja, the ancient city located at the confluence of the Zeta and Morača rivers. Much water has flowed through their channels, and even more wine has poured over their hills since those times. Yet, one question remains—what color is that wine?
If they could speak, the Illyrians of Duklja would surely say the wine is black, just like their Duklja, a name meaning “hidden” or “dark.” Later, the Thracians gave the land the name Zenta (Zeta), referring to the color of blood, and would likely have shared wine of the same hue. The Slavs, as the last conquerors of this land, could not resist a good drop of wine, yet their language stumbled between the words “čermno” (red) and “černo” (black), restoring the land and its wine to its oldest name. Conquerors came and went, but the wine kept flowing.
Once poured from amphorae, today it flows from bottles… just like Zenta!
