Detail information
On the edge of ancient Duklja, where the Zeta and Morača rivers have met for centuries, lies Zenta Vučinić winery, a family-owned estate of the Vučinić family. The name “Zenta” carries meaning rooted in the heritage of ancient peoples and Montenegrin history. It symbolizes what is hidden, deep, and powerful, just like the wines created here.
The vineyards stretch over 2.5 hectares of land on the demanding yet fertile terrain of Rogami, where both indigenous and international grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Kratošija, Malvasia, Marselan, Merlot and Vranac are cultivated. The wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes.
Wines of Zenta Vučinić winery
Zenta wines embody local character and a modern oenological approach. They are crafted in a 25-meter-long cellar carved into rock, where they are aged under ideal conditions in French and American oak barrels.
- Zenta Vranac Barrique – A red wine with pronounced notes of cherry and blackberry, rounded by vanilla from oak aging. Creamy, smooth, and long-lasting on the palate.
- Zenta Vranac – A classic Montenegrin Vranac with a ruby hue, fresh and mild, featuring pleasant tannins. Perfect for everyday enjoyment.
- Zenta Cabernet Sauvignon – A full-bodied, characterful wine. Aromatic, with notes of blackcurrant, spice, and leather.
- Zenta Chardonnay – A white wine of crystal clarity, with aromas of green apple, pineapple, and citrus. Fresh, balanced, and elegant.
- Zenta Rosé – A delicately pink rosé with aromas of raspberry and cherry. Refreshing and soft – perfect for summer.

Wine and the history of Duklja (Doclea)
If they could speak, the Illyrians of Duklja would surely say the wine is black, just like their Duklja, a name meaning “hidden” or “dark.” Later, the Thracians gave the land the name Zenta (Zeta), referring to the color of blood, and would likely have shared wine of the same hue.
The Slavs, as the last conquerors of this land, could not resist a good drop of wine, yet their language stumbled between the words “čermno” (red) and “černo” (black), restoring the land and its wine to its oldest name. Conquerors came and went, but the wine kept flowing.
Winemaker and winery
The winery is the result of decades of work and love by the Vučinić family. Today, Biljana Knežević runs the winery following the tradition and modern technology that come together in every sip.
