Detail information

Brajović Winery is a boutique winery established on the foundation of a multi-decade family tradition of grape and wine production. It is located in the village of Jelenak, in the Danilovgrad region, on the left bank of the Zeta River, an area historically recognized for its winemaking, as evidenced by numerous place names and remnants of old wine grape varieties. During a major genomic research project conducted in collaboration with “13. Jul Plantaže” by the Institute for Vine and Wine from La Rioja (Spain), two unknown vine genotypes (varieties) were discovered at this location.

Brajović Winery produces around 15,000 liters of wine annually and boasts a diverse portfolio with 7 wine labels, all made exclusively from grapes grown in its own vineyards. The Brajović vineyards span 3.5 hectares, situated in the wine subregion of Bjelopavlići, which stretches across the northeastern part of the Montenegrin basin of Lake Skadar, in the Zeta River valley. The Bjelopavlići plain, 28 km long and 8 km wide, is bordered by terraced hillsides of the mountains and formed on a limestone base over which a characteristic clay soil has accumulated, influenced by the deposits of an ancient lake.

The dominant influence is the Mediterranean climate, with a significant impact from the warm air flowing from the Adriatic Sea through the Bojana River valley and across Lake Skadar, making the Bjelopavlići subregion ideal for flowering, shoot growth, bud formation, and grape ripening due to its optimal average temperatures.

In addition to the extremely high number of sunny hours and favorable temperature regime, as indicated by bioclimatic index values, a particular factor influencing the quality of grapes and wine from this area is the carbonate-free soil, exceptionally rich in microelements, which contributes to the mineral character of the wine.

Brajović Winery offers the following wines:

  • ALLEGRO 2024: White Chardonnay
  • MIA 2024: Rosé Cabernet Sauvignon
  • KOLOS 2021: Red blend (Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot)
  • STIMA: Red Kratošija
