The Mašanović winery boasts a tradition spanning more than ten generations, transformed into premium red barrique wines.
Nestled in the heart of Crmnica, Montenegro’s most renowned wine region, the winery is located in Virpazar, along the Podgorica–Petrovac main road, on the grounds of the former vineyard and wine cellar of King Nikola.
The vineyard stretches across the site of the former summer residence of Ivan Crnojević in Orahovsko Polje, just 1.5 kilometers from the winery. Situated at an altitude of only 10 meters in untouched nature, the vineyard encompasses six grape varieties: Vranac, Kratošija, Marselan, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese. The winery is dedicated to producing limited quantities of exclusively premium red barrique wines, which age in carefully selected French oak barrels. The barrels are replaced after three years of use, while the old barrels are repurposed into authentic furniture that reflects the spirit of tradition.
Attention to detail is paramount: elegant, high-quality glass bottles are imported from Italy, while certified cork stoppers are sourced from Portugal, ensuring optimal wine preservation.
The winery’s prestigious wines embody a story of tradition and quality. Their offerings include KRIN, DIONIS, BUĆA, TRE SORELLE (a natural sweet wine), and CRMNIČKI VRANAC. The quality of these wines has been recognized with numerous awards, trophies, and gold medals from international fairs and exhibitions in Paris, Budapest, Split, Mostar, Novi Sad, Podgorica, and Virpazar. Among the most prominent accolades is the “Champion of Quality” title from the Novi Sad Fair, alongside multiple certificates for excellence.
The Mašanović winery stands not only as a symbol of exceptional wines but also as a guardian of Montenegro’s rich tradition and cultural heritage.
