Detail information

Brajović winery is located in the village of Jelenak, on the left bank of the Zeta River, in the heart of the historic wine-growing region of Bjelopavlići. This boutique winery builds on decades of family tradition while also relying on extensive scientific research, which identified genetically unique grape varieties growing in this very soil.

The vineyards cover three and a half hectares, with an annual production of 15,000 litres of wine, making it one of the most prominent wineries in the sub-region. All 7 labels of wine are made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate, ensuring full control over quality.

The Bjelopavlići plain, 28 km long and 8 km wide, is bordered by terraced hillsides of the mountains and formed on a limestone base over which a characteristic clay soil has accumulated, influenced by the deposits of an ancient lake.

The dominant influence is the Mediterranean climate, with a significant impact from the warm air flowing from the Adriatic Sea through the Bojana River valley and across Lake Skadar, making the Bjelopavlići subregion ideal for flowering, shoot growth, bud formation, and grape ripening due to its optimal average temperatures.

In addition to the extremely high number of sunny hours and favorable temperature regime, as indicated by bioclimatic index values, a particular factor influencing the quality of grapes and wine from this area is the carbonate-free soil, exceptionally rich in microelements, which contributes to the mineral character of the wine.
